This necklace is a popular real showcase to a very popular jewellery trend during the 1920 - 1940s - the exploration of foreign lands, this pendant is a Chinese export, it began its life as a dress clip and has since lost its back but has been recycled as a pendant. The pendant is wired at the back so I attach the bale thicker sterling wire.
The pendant created using red cinnabar, hand carved with a lovely bird and flora in the background. The necklace is a combination or red modern glass seed beads and cut steel.
The necklace is wired with sterling silver wire and the clasp is a box clasp.
