Product code: Vintage-1957-Child’s Zorro Costume-Halloween-Disney popular Advertising-Ben Cooper Costumes-For Display Only-Ties Removed For Safety

Etsy originally removed this vintage costume from my site due to potential child safety issues due to the presence of ties on the cape and back of the suit so I removed them. I would not want a child to be injured due to an item listed on my shop site so I would like to emphasize that popular this item is for display purposes only. It is 65 years old (ready for Medicare, lol at this point).

There are a few moth holes and even a tear but it looks great displayed in the original box or hanging.

This wonderful massed produced costume is a piece of history. It gives us clues about the condition of the world in the 1950's. Kids have always had hero's, mostly western stars in the 50's. There was Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Tonto, and of course, Zorro who were always ready to save the weak from the bullies of the world.

Use this wonderful costume to decorate your home during the Fall season or to decorate for your Halloween party, or maybe you or you brother wore this very same costume Halloween 1957.

The 50's era was a simpler time to live. Our parents did not know that ties on our costumes were potentially dangerous and that the masks for these costumes blocked our vision and made breathing difficult. We were excited to wear them the one night of the year we could dress up like heroes and go from house to house begging for candy.

As you can see from the close up of the mask with this costume someone's mother wanted her child to be able to breathe while going from house to house begging for candy so she used a hole punch to make a hole in the teeth part of the mask.

Please remember 65 years later now that we are aware of these dangers and that this costume is fragile that it is for display only.

Shipping costs are included in the cost of this I item.
