Types of embroidery

1.SOZNI EMBROIDERY

Considered one of the most tedious forms of needle work, Aari hand embroidery is the specialty of Kashmiri artisans. They use hooked needles, also called tambour, to create intrinsic, concentric loops.

3.KAANTHA EMBROIDERY

Literally meaning "rags" in Sanskrit, the word kantha originated from the West Bengal state of India. It was used for the pile of worn out silk and muslin clothes that women stitched together as a drape in brisker weather.

4.TILLA EMBROIDERY

Tilla is a golden thread, which is used to embroider bold paisleys, gorgeous florets along popular the borders of a pashmina shawl like a precious jewel.

5.KALAMKARI EMBROIDERY

Difference between Cashmere & Pashmina: -

Pashmina is one of the finest wool from the Changra Goat which is found In the Indian Subcontinent in Ladakh Region of Kashmir it is known as Pashmina, outside it is known by the name, Cashmere. The two words Pashmina & Cashmere should not be confused. Cashmere word when used to denote Pashmina, gives more significance to its origin i.e., Valley of Kashmir. Today every genuine ‘Pashmina' is ‘Cashmere' but every ‘Cashmere' is NOT genuine ‘Pashmina'.
