To be a sweetheart or mother of a man/son in the military, meant to show your support State-side.
One way to show that support was to wear a piece of sweetheart jewelry depicting the branch of service.
There was immense pride, and care, given to this paratrooper bracelet. Not to mention the history of the bracelet in craftsmanship and quality.
Three sterling, and gold-plated, charms dangle from a delicate paper-clip and link bracelet. Each oblong long has a stamp edged boarder.
The center charm is stunning. From a deployed parachute is a solider. Across the mid-section of the parachute is a royal blue enameled section that reads "U.S. Paratroops."
On either side of the center charm, are two Air Force paratroopers insignia.
Condition is good. The enameling on the center charm is vibrant. There is some wear to the gold-plating on the higher spots of all three charms, and the gold-plate has developed a warm patina. Two of the charms have the sterling mark.
The bracelet has a paper-clip like clasp. One end of the clasp has narrowed a bit, which prevents the links from siding freely end to end. It is fixable by a qualified jeweler. The clip, itself, does not close all the way.
On the clasp resides the sterling mark.
Measurement, unclasp - 7 1/4 inches.
