Established in 1884 as D. Thompson & Company, manager Alvin Bentley bought-out Thompson in 1886 and changed the name to the Owosso Tool Company. The Owosso, Michigan plant manufactured farm tools, including but not limited to hay rakes, snow shovels and egg crates.

~ signature required upon delivery

The Owosso plant in Benton, Arkansas manufactured dining and bedroom furniture. The egg crates were in such demand that the state of Texas purchased over 800,000 egg crates in 1912.

This Owosso Manufacturing Company egg crate is in fine condition and has a removable lid with a handle. Factory imprint of 'Made by Owosso MFG CO., Owosso, Mich., Benton, ARK.'

Another side has 'Humpty Dumpty' imprinted. Faded initials and name in old black paint on the sides and lid (probably the previous owner). Very nice piece for farmhouse or rustic decor.
