These are the first 6 out of seven volumes of the once popular ELSIE DUNSMORE, A Life of Faith Series, which was originally a series of 27 fictional books written by Martha Finley at the end of the 1800's. The stories take place just before the Civil War on a Southern Plantation with the main character being a little 8 year old girl named, Elsie who lives with her grandfather and his family.

Although originally published during the last half of the 1800's, these particular books were re-written in a more current vernacular to interest today's readers and published in 1990's.
